In the following article, we first discussed Brentano's views on reism and his historical importance. Brentano has influenced the history of analytic philosophy in three important ways: the theory of intentionally, language analysis, and reform in logic. His reism is closely related to all three dimensions of his thought. While expressing this connection, we showed that he is trying to stabilize the reistic view with a linguistic approach. Kotarbinski, the main theorist of reism, saw it as a tool to overcome pseudo-problems, metaphysical difficulties, and ambiguity of language. At first, he had an ontological view of reism, but later, under the influence of Ajdukiewicz's criticisms, he turned to a linguistic approach to reism. In this article, after expressing Kotarbinski's views, we discussed Ajdukiewicz's criticisms and their impact on Kotarbinski's approach. Then we showed that, contrary to modern logic, reism has a single-category view of the world and does not believe in category hierarchies. Finally, we compared reism with Frege's theory of meaning and stated that unlike Frege's theory of meaning, reism is not an abstract theory and can solve some of the difficulties of Frege's theory of meaning such as non-existent proper nouns.
