Abstract: (121 Views)
One of the complex philosophical issues is the understanding of the truth of man, and especially therelationship between the soul and the body. The unity of the soul and the body is one of the issues that has attracted the attention of many philosophers, especially Islamic philosophers. Accordingly, the issue of this article is the analysis of the views of Ibn Sina and Mulla Sadra on the unity of the soul and the body. The present research method is descriptive-analytical. Both philosophers reject the idea of the soul being ancient, which is a legacy of Plato; in this regard, Ibn Sina considers the soul to be abstract in terms of essence and in terms of action from the time it is joined to the body, but Mulla Sadra considers the soul to be abstract in terms of essence but in terms of emergence, he believes in the physicality of occurrence In this article, we have shown that Ibn Sina's words are more powerful because the problems of changing nature, which some researchers and thinkers in Islamic philosophy have attributed to Mulla Sadra's theory, do not arise in Ibn Sina's theory, which considers the soul to be abstract at its creation and afterwards. According to Ibn Sina, the relationship between the soul and the body is accidental because he considers the soul to be the mastermind of the body, but Mulla Sadra considers the relationship the soul and the body
