Parvin Etesami, a renowned Iranian poet, delves deep into the concept of the meaning of life, exploring themes such as love, knowledge, justice, and perfection. This research, employing a descriptive-analytical approach and drawing on a range of scholarly sources, examines Etesami's multifaceted perspectives on the meaning of existence. On the one hand, she posits an inherent, predetermined meaning rooted in human nature and the laws of the universe. On the other hand, she emphasizes the role of human agency and free will in shaping one's life's purpose. This study reveals that Etesami synthesizes these seemingly disparate views to offer a comprehensive and humanistic definition of existence, one that acknowledges both the spiritual and divine dimensions of human nature and the individual's capacity to shape their own destiny.
A novel aspect of this research lies in its detailed examination of how these seemingly contradictory perspectives co-exist within Etesami's poetry. Ultimately, Etesami's poetic exploration reminds us that the meaning of life is found in the pursuit of personal growth and fulfillment, while simultaneously appreciating life's inherent beauty.
