The present article is the result of an interdisciplinary study in the field of applied philosophy. It seeks to address the question of how to enhance the dynamism and efficacy of Islamic philosophy. The primary hypothesis, in response to this question, is the integration of Islamic philosophy into the realm of interdisciplinary studies. To examine this hypothesis, Cohen’s Logic-Based Therapy and Consultation (LBTC)—as one of the existing approaches in philosophical counseling—was selected. After analyzing and explicating this method, the study demonstrates why this counseling approach can serve as a suitable candidate for applying Islamic philosophy to real and concrete human issues. The research reveals that, in the fifth stage of the six-stage LBTC process—when it comes to introducing a guiding and elevating philosophy and when the counselor must prescribe antidotes or virtues for the identified fallacies in the client’s beliefs—one can effectively draw upon the ideas of Muslim philosophers, many of which are suitable for presentation as guiding virtues. The innovation of this article lies in its unique engagement with the ideas of Muslim philosophers and its endeavor to apply them within the framework of therapeutic and counseling processes.
